Hiromi Sanada, PhD, RN, WOC is currently a professor in the Department of Gerontological Nursing, The University of Tokyo, and the Department of Nursing, Kanazawa University, in Japan. Hiromi is chief editor of the Journal of Pressure Ulcer Society of Japan, a committee member of both the Japanese Stoma Rehabilitation Society and the Japanese Pressure Ulcer Society. She also does volunteer work for the Japanese Ostomy Society and is the author of several textbooks in Japan, most notably, Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Treatment. She is past chairperson of the 4th Annual Japanese Pressure Ulcer Society and is currently the chief researcher of a government-sponsored task force responsible for establishing a national standard for nursing care of pressure ulcers in Japan.
