Geoff Sussman is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Wound Education and
Research in the Department of Pharmacy Practice Monash University, an Associate
of the National Ageing Research Institute and Founder of the Wound Foundation
of Australia He has been involved in wound management for over 25 years. He has
undertaken clinical research, product evaluation and clinical practice, and he
has written many articles on the topic. He is the co-author of a text book on
wound care published in USA in 1998 and 2001 and has written the section on wound
dressings and wound care in a number of additions of the Australian Pharmaceutical
Formulary and MIMS OTC and a number of book chapters. He developed a Wound identification
and product selection chart, and a chart listing all products available in Australia.
He past president of the Australian Wound Management Association and a life member
of the Wound Management Association of Victoria and the Secretary of the World
Union of Wound Healing Societies. He is a member of Sports Medicine Australia,
and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Pharmacy Management. He is a member
of the editorial board of the Australian Wound Management Journal, Wound Care
Network and is Chairman of the advisory committee for Post Graduate Wound Care
education including Masters of Wound Care at Monash University. In his spare time
he is the President of the Victorian Gymnastic Association for the past 17 year,
was Chairman of the Australian Diving Association for 10 years and was an executive
board member of the Victorian Olympic committee, he was a member of the Australian
team to the Barcelona Olympic games in 1992. |
